Fine Grinding: Achieve a near-scratch-free finish, meticulously removing any deformations caused by the grinding process.
Advanced Polishing for Unmatched Clarity:
Superior Reflectivity: Witness unparalleled clarity with our premium polishing consumables, specially formulated to yield highly reflective surfaces.
Optimized Performance: Experience the impact of meticulously crafted materials and precise formulations, ensuring exceptional results every time.
A Holistic Approach to Flawless Surfaces:
Metkon understands that achieving a perfect final surface relies on the seamless integration of each stage in the preparation process. Our consumables are designed to work synergistically, delivering consistent quality from initial grinding to the final polishing step.
Metkon offers a comprehensive range of consumables that cater to all stages of metallographic sample preparation:
Sandpapers: Available in various grits (coarse to fine) for both planar grinding (removing unevenness) and fine grinding (minimizing scratches).
Diamond Pastes / Suspensions: These come in varying grades (coarse to fine) and are used alongside polishing cloths to achieve a highly reflective surface for ideal microscopic observation.
Polishing Cloths: Offered in different materials and weaves, these work with diamond pastes/suspensions to effectively polish the sample surface.
Other Consumables: This category may include lubricants, cleaning solutions, and other accessories essential for the grinding and polishing process.

Technical Expertise: Leverage our in-depth knowledge to optimize your metallographic preparation process.
Metkon Polishing Cloths:
There are three types of polishing cloths; Woven, Non-Woven and Flocked
Woven Cloths: Woven cloths provide rigid surface properties and ensure a flat pre-polishing stage without compromising the edges.
Non-Woven Cloths: Non-woven cloths are suitable for high-precision surface finishing on very hard materials like glass, quartz, sapphire, and semiconductors.
Flocked Cloths: Flocked cloths guarantee a super-polished finish. To prevent inclusions from being extracted, it’s essential to keep the polishing duration as short as possible.
Metkon Diamond Suspensions
Diamonds used in materialographic grinding and polishing come in two distinct crystalline shapes: Polycrystalline (P) and Monocrystalline (M). Here’s how they differ:
Polycrystalline (P-type): Featuring numerous microscopic cutting edges, P-type diamonds excel in high material removal while minimizing scratch depth, ideal for critical applications.
Monocrystalline (M-type): Offering fewer, yet larger cutting edges, M-type diamonds deliver faster material removal but with a more variable scratch pattern, making them suitable for general-purpose polishing.
To cater to all your metallographic needs, Metkon offers a diverse selection of diamond products:
Diamond Paste: Highly concentrated diamond particles for effective polishing.
Diamond Suspension: Diamond particles dispersed in a liquid, providing precise control and easy application.
Two-in-One Products: A practical blend of diamond suspension and lubricant, simplifying the preparation process.
Diamond's exceptional hardness and cutting efficiency make it the preferred abrasive in metallographic polishing, ensuring you achieve the flawless surface finish necessary for accurate analysis.
