PELLET & POWDER ANALYZERS


OCS has been the market leader in designing and building pellets and powder contamination analyzers or purity scanners. These are used for quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) of pellets and powder in the laboratories. The instrument can also be integrated into online systems to monitor polymer quality in real-time, which helps improve process control.

The pellets scanner has a high-resolution camera with special lighting systems for detecting contamination or impurities such as black specks, burn marks, discoloration defects, fibers, etc. This ensures the best possible pellet purity and form as well as the best possible powder consistency.

Apart from contamination, it can be coupled with particle size and shape analyzers for rapid analysis and classification of size and shape of samples. It detects sample shape, size, diameter, elongation, roundness, or convexity. Examples of these defects are twins, triples, spikes, dog-bones, pellets with tails and shape-edged pellets.

Another important quality measurement is yellowness index, whiteness index and L.A.B. It is equipped with a spectrophotometer or UV-VIS spectrometer to measure color defects.

With all combinations, it provides a full solution for quality control of purity measurement in terms of size, shape, color and impurities.
