The Ants Scientific AM900 Vibratory Disc Mill is a high-performance laboratory sample preparation mill designed for the rapid and loss-free grinding of hard, brittle and fibrous materials. It is particularly suitable for preparing samples for XRF and other spectroscopic analyses, where consistent and reproducible particle size is essential.

The AM900 uses horizontal circular vibratory motion to generate strong compression, impact and friction forces between the grinding elements and sample. This enables rapid fine grinding, with the manufacturer specifying approximately 20–100 µm fineness within a few seconds, depending on the sample and grinding set.

Working Principle

The grinding set is mounted on a vibrating chassis. The grinding plate and grinding set move in a horizontal circular vibratory motion.

This movement generates significant compression, impact and friction forces, rapidly reducing the sample to fine particles. The enclosed grinding set also helps minimize sample loss and contamination during sample preparation.
