Non-Contact Full-Field 2D Analysis

The VIC-2D System is a fully integrated, turnkey solution for acquiring non-contact, full-field two-dimensional displacement and strain data during mechanical testing of planar specimens.

Utilizing highly optimized correlation algorithms, VIC-2D accurately measures in-plane displacements at every point within the area of interest. It then computes and displays the full-field strain map to easily and precisely identify strain concentrations.

Key Capabilities and Performance

  • Exceptional Accuracy: Achieves sub-micron displacement resolution and measures local strains from 50 microstrain up to 2500%+, boasting extremely low noise levels and high accuracy.
  • Scalability: Measures specimen sizes ranging from microscopic to very large scale simply by adjusting the optics.
  • Microscope Integration: The included software module allows seamless integration with high-powered microscopes, such as AFMs or SEMs, for analyzing extremely small specimens.
