Laboratory Mortar Grinder for Dry, Wet, Frozen and Pasty Samples
The Ants Scientific AM200S Mortar Grinder is a versatile laboratory sample preparation mill based on the traditional mortar and pestle grinding principle. It uses controlled friction and compression between the mortar and pestle to gently grind and homogenize a wide range of samples, including soft, hard, medium-hard, brittle and pasty materials.
With an adjustable grinding speed of 50–150 rpm, programmable grinding cycles and a choice of seven grinding-set materials, the AM200S provides flexible sample preparation while helping to minimize excessive temperature increase during grinding. It can perform dry, wet and frozen grinding, making it particularly useful for temperature-sensitive, difficult-to-grind and pasty samples.

Working Principle
The AM200S reproduces the traditional manual mortar-and-pestle grinding process. Sample material enters the mortar and is subjected to friction and compression between the rotating pestle and mortar.
The controlled grinding action allows the sample to be gradually reduced while the adjustable pressure and low rotational speed provide flexibility for different sample types. Grinding aids, freezing or controlled heating can be used for selected difficult or pasty samples when appropriate.
