Bivariate Distribution

Polymer Char's CFC

A break through of Polymer Char in high resolution cross-fractionation of Polyolefins has been made possible by two-dimensional distribution relating molar mass and composition variables. It is capable to complete cross-fractionation without loss of information.

CFC fractionates the polymer according to crystallinity subsequently with a TREF separation process (Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation). The resulting fractions are continuously injected towards the online GPC columns where a second fractionation. Here, molecular weight distribution (Mw) is analysed.
